A fire incident shook the residents of Vesu, Surat, as flames engulfed a luxurious flat in the Happy Excellency building. The blaze originated on the seventh floor and rapidly spread to the floors above, creating panic among the occupants.
Upon receiving the distress call, the fire department swiftly dispatched teams from five stations to the scene. Firefighters are currently engaged in intense efforts to contain the fire, despite facing challenging conditions. Unfortunately, one firefighter sustained burns during the operation.
The location’s significance heightened as Minister of State for Home Affairs Harsh Sanghvi resided in close proximity. Upon learning of the incident, Sanghvi promptly arrived at the site to oversee the firefighting efforts and coordinate rescue operations. Residents were safely evacuated from the building amidst the chaos.
Eyewitnesses reported a strong smell of burning at 7:15 am, leading to the discovery of the fire on the eighth floor. It was later revealed that a short circuit, caused by an unattended switch in the sauna, triggered the blaze. The fire caused significant damage to the eighth and ninth floors, with minor damage reported on the eleventh floor.
Harsh Sanghvi, monitoring the situation closely, praised the fire department’s prompt response and the diligent efforts of personnel working under arduous conditions. Advanced firefighting equipment, including cranes, was deployed to combat the flames effectively. Harsh Sanghvi expressed gratitude to the fire department and assured residents of ongoing support and assistance in the aftermath of the incident.
