The city of Surat is set to host the historic Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha from 16th January for the very first time under the guidance of internationally renowned storyteller, Pandit Pradeep Mishra, popularly known as Sehore Wale. This grand spiritual event has captured the hearts of Shiv devotees, and preparations are in full swing to welcome an expected gathering of over 15 lakh people from Surat, Gujarat and other states.
The main organizers expressed their excitement, stating that this event is a golden opportunity for Shiv devotees to immerse themselves in devotion and spirituality. “This is not just a katha; it is a historic moment for the devotees of Surat and Gujarat to seek blessings from Lord Shiva.”
The event will be hosted in a massive German pandal spanning an area of 200 bighas, specifically designed to accommodate the large number of attendees. A sprawling parking facility, covering 160 bighas is also being developed to handle the large number of vehicles. Groundwork is completed with JCBs, tractors and other machinery actively involved in preparing the site.
Special efforts are being made to ensure the comfort and convenience of the devotees. Tree trimming is being carried out to clear pathways, and extensive restroom facilities are being constructed. To cater to the spiritual and physical nourishment of devotees, arrangements are being made for the distribution of food as prasad on a large scale.
In a heartfelt appeal, the organizers have urged devotees from Surat and neighboring areas to participate enthusiastically in this sacred event. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to listen to the divine Shiv Mahapuran Katha and gain spiritual benefit. Your presence will not only enrich your spiritual journey but also contribute to the service of humanity through this religious gathering,” they stated.
The Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha is anticipated to be one of the largest spiritual events ever held in Surat and starting from today 16th January. The event aims to unite devotees in devotion and service, creating a unique atmosphere of faith and harmony.
