The spiritual fervor of Mahakumbh 2025 has drawn an overwhelming number of devotees from Surat to Prayagraj. In the past month alone, over 6 lakh people have embarked on this sacred journey, with 2.5 lakh traveling by train and 3.5 lakh opting for private vehicles or buses.
The massive pilgrimage has led to a surge in travel demand, causing all train tickets to Prayagraj to be booked with no waiting list availability. In response to this high demand, private tour operators have introduced special Mahakumbh travel packages, facilitating a smoother journey for devotees.
To accommodate the growing influx, the Surat Regional Transport Office (RTO) has issued permits to 702 vehicles, ensuring adequate transportation for pilgrims. Additionally, in the next six days, an estimated 40,000 more devotees are expected to travel from Surat to Prayagraj, further increasing the rush.
With millions of devotees expected at Mahakumbh 2025, authorities are actively managing transportation and crowd control to ensure a safe and seamless pilgrimage experience.
