Big news has come out regarding the HMVP virus spread from China. There has been a commotion in Ahmedabad city after a suspected case of Human Metapneumonia Virus (HMPV) was reported. According to the information received, a 2-month-old child was admitted to a private hospital in Chandkheda for treatment. During this, his test came positive.
A 2-month-old infant from Dungarpur, Rajasthan, was brought to Ahmedabad for medical treatment. The child, whose condition worsened, was admitted to a private hospital in Chandkheda on December 24.
The health department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) revealed that the child’s test results arrived on December 26. However, the hospital failed to inform the AMC about the case as per protocol. Despite this lapse, the child’s treatment is underway, and his condition remains stable.

Gujarat will follow the Center’s guidelines
Health Minister Rushikesh Patel said that the HMPV virus is old, the prevalence has increased recently. Its infection has definitely increased, but there is no need to be afraid. Its symptoms are milder than Covid. Gujarat will follow the guidelines of the central government properly.

This virus is called human metapneumovirus (HMPV), and its symptoms are similar to those of the common cold. It usually causes a cough or sore throat, runny nose, or sore throat. HMPV infection can be serious in young children and the elderly. The virus can cause serious illness in people with weakened immune systems.
