Travel Itinerary & Stay Arrangements

  • Buses will depart from GSRTC bus depots in their respective cities.
  • Due to the long journey, an overnight stay at Baran (MP) is included in the package. Accommodation will be provided on a room-sharing basis.
  • Upon reaching Prayagraj, pilgrims must arrange their stay at the Maha Kumbh Mela. The GSRTC package does not include accommodation in Prayagraj.
  • Meals are not included in the package.

Important Travel Instructions for Pilgrims

  • Minister of State for Transport Harsh Sanghavi made the official announcement of the Surat–Prayagraj bus service through his social media accounts. Pilgrims should keep the following points in mind:
  • The bus will park at a designated area away from the Kumbh Mela site. Expect a 5 km walk to reach the main event.
  • Heavy pilgrim movement on Shahi Snan days may cause traffic restrictions, delays, and reroutes.
  • Local e-rickshaws and CNG rickshaws are available at an additional cost.
  • The holy bath at Sangam takes around 2-3 hours, so plan accordingly.
  • Pilgrims who wish to carry Sangam water should leave extra space in their bags.
  • Light luggage is advised preferably a trolley bag for easy movement.
  • Carry warm clothes, power banks, torch, candles, cash (loose change), and necessary medicines.
  • Bring at least 4-5 copies of your Aadhar Card/ID proof for verification purposes.

Limited Train & Flight Availability

Many pilgrims are struggling to get train tickets despite Indian Railways launching several special trains and adding extra coaches. Three special Ahmedabad–Prayagraj flights have also been introduced, but tickets are either unavailable or extremely expensive.

The introduction of GSRTC’s AC Volvo buses provides a much-needed affordable and comfortable travel option for devotees from Surat and other Gujarat cities.

Book your seats online at GSRTC.in from February 2, 5 PM onwards!
