The festive season is in full swing across Gujarat, with grand Christmas celebrations paving the way for preparations for New Year’s Eve. Surat, one of the state’s bustling cities, is gearing up for the festivities on December 31st. Popular areas like Dumas, Adajan, Pal and Magdalla are expected to get together thousands of people eager to welcome for the New Year.

In anticipation of the crowds, Surat City Police have announced comprehensive safety measures to ensure a smooth and secure celebration for everyone. During a media interaction, the City Police Commissioner detailed the deployment of extensive security arrangements. Around 4,000 police guards, four companies from the State Reserve Police (SRP), 450 Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs), and senior police personnel will be on duty throughout the night.
To further enhance security, Surat Police will utilize seven drone cameras for aerial surveillance. Additionally, 35 female police (SHE) teams in plain clothes will be patrolling the hotspots, supported by the Dog Squad. This strategic deployment aims to stop any anti-social activities and ensure public safety.

The Police Commissioner also issued a strict warning to individuals who might disrupt the celebrations by engaging in illegal activities such as consuming liquor or drugs, overspeeding or disturbing the peace. He stated that strict action, including filing cases, would be taken against offenders. The Commissioner urged the youth to celebrate responsibly and abide by the law, emphasizing that New Year’s Eve should be enjoyed without compromising the safety of public.
